On the Manner (2026)

Developed for Ars Electronica 2026, On the Manner explores how artistic tools encode cultural values. Connecting Abraham Bosse’s 1645 printmaking manual with penPal, a custom robotic drawing tool, the project examines how ideas about precision, efficiency and reproduction are transmitted through art technology and instruction. The installation includes semi-automated drawings and a hands-on demonstration.
