COVID Atlas (6104 Woodlawn)
Graphite, permanent marker, acrylic, and relief techniques on paper, appropriated prints, custom pedestal.
In "On Exactitude in Science," Borges writes of a desert far to the west where "Animals and Beggars" take shelter in the remnants of a map the size of an empire. A comparatively humble affair, COVID Atlas (6104 Woodlawn) is a 1:1 scale record of the studio apartment I have lived in throughout the outset of the pandemic. The piece is a testament to being cloistered in small places, but it's also lingers in the more subtle stress induced by a preponderance of data.
